Best thing was that they covered full costs of everything faulty and labour, I only had to take the Dolphin to their shop, and later pick it up. It was ready to go four days later, and is working better than ever. I spoke to the Maytronics dealer (Splash Pools) here on the Central Coast of NSW, the guys looked at it, acted quickly and efficiently, and replaced the motors and circuit board assembly within the machine.
The S200 was trying hard but would not steer! she just drove back and forward on a linear plane, often doing a wheelie attempting to turn but to no avail. Read more purchase, and as usual put the Dolphin to work pre Christmas swimming. However, I then started Christmas leave on the 7th December, almost two years after. I always took it out of the pool when the cycle finished, cleaned the basket and stored it on a piece of cardboard, upside down in a spare room out of the elements. It performed flawlessly for two years, and impressively was delivered by Splash Pools at Tuggerah, within two days of clicking! I used it for two hours a day, three times a week during this period. I bought a Maytronics S200 cleaner just before Christmas in 2019. I have no idea how it’s performance compared to other similar units but I could not recommend this one more highly - and how wrong I was in my long-held underestimation of robot pool cleaners! I now just sort out the chemicals, filter and filter socks and the Maytonics does the rest under instruction from my wife or her phone. It even limbs the walls and cleans the tiles above the waterline! It’s 12 months on now and wow - what a difference it has made to owning a big (12m) leafy-suburban pebblecrete pool. I was totally sceptical of more expensive robot type units but my wife arranged a surprise Maytronics Dolphin S100 (I think this a low to mid end robot price-wise) from Santa for Xmas 2020.
Read more often daily, manual net-scooping before using the pool cleaner effectively. We’d had cheap filter pump-driven units the whole time and I felt they did a passable job vacuuming up sediment but leaves (we have way more than our share) necessitated very frequent. The S200 looks to be a step up from the S200 so I imagine it is a terrific product!Īfter 18 years in our home and now into retirement I had started wondering aloud whether it was time for us to downsize and not be lumbered with yard maintenance and pool maintenance in particular. Note : I’ve belatedly realised that the S100 review below is in the S200 section. I have noticed a big saving on my time, chemicals and power costs since converting to this type of pool cleaner and highly recommend this product. It is recommended to remove the pool cleaner from the pool when not in use and when the pool is being used. The Dolphin S200 is an attractive machine and has no noise when operating is easy to clean and operate, just put it in the pool and push the start button and the pool is completely clean in two hours. Read more am particularly impressed with how clean my water is now and how it mangers to clean the walls, side tiles and the complete pool. There is a big saving on running costs and a lot less use of chemicals because the Dolphin S200 stores the debris in it is own easy to clean canister which means that no dirt particles end up in the pool filter which also means less backwashing of the filter. Having had various other types of cleaners that rely on being connected to the pool filtration system and run when the pool filter is going do not do as good a job as these standalone systems.
The Dolphin S200 is an ideal pool cleaner that picks up all debris and does the job perfectly. Purchased in November 2017 at Rode Pools for $1,300. They took no responsibility for their product and advised that I must have cleaned the pool too many times. When I contacted the company the response was defensive & unhelpful. Buyers beware that you may only get two years or so out of this cleaner. I am now facing the prospect of paying $2550 for a new cleaner as it feels like I’m throwing good money after bad with my old cleaner. I feel like as soon as mine was out of warranty I have had nothing but trouble with it.
I have seen advertising that says that these cleaners will last up to 10 years so the two year warranty. It is back in the shop again and now needs another new motor after only having the motor replaced less than 12 months ago. I have lost count this year how many repairs I have had done. When it works, it is fantastic but unfortunately the older it has gotten the more unreliable it has become.
